Age Friendly Banbury is a partnership between local organisations committed to making Banbury an age-friendly town. Chaired by Sally Scott DL, it brings together older people, community leaders, local charities, businesses, and local councils.

“Local businesses and organisations have shown a real willingness to collaborate, improving the lives of older people with diverse needs, and helping to reduce loneliness and isolation. I look forward to seeing this wonderful initiative continue and look at many more equally effective projects.”

Sally Scott DL, Chair of Age Friendly Banbury

BANBURY FOR ALL AGES

Age Friendly Banbury is a joint initiative to make Banbury a great place to grow older. There are already some great groups and opportunities for older people in Banbury. We have found out that for some older people poor transport, unsuitable housing, fear of crime, lack of community cohesion, limited care, and difficulty finding or getting to social activities can get in the way of enjoying their later years. We want to bring all local support and community groups together, with the partners to solve these issues together.

The initial focus is on older people, but the vision is of a ‘Banbury for all ages’ – a friendly and more accessible town for everyone.
